Estimation of parameters of genetic variation of spring durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) on the basis of “number of grains from the main spike”

Aim. To assess the combining ability, features and nature of inheritance trait “number grains from main spike” in varieties spring durum wheat for their further involvement breeding programs. Methods. The investigations were carried out at V. M. Remeslo Institute Wheat NAAS Ukraine. Varieties (‘Zhizel’, ‘MIP Raiduzhna’, ‘Kharkivska 27’, 39’, ‘Spadshchyna’, ‘Kuchumovka’, ‘Tera’) domestic involved crossings according to full diallel scheme (7 ´ 7). Parental components F1 studied field 2016, 2017. Results. analysis variance ability showed a significant advantage general ability (GCA) effects. mean square specific combining (SCA) was significantly inferior GCA, but both years study. Consistently high GCA effects 2017 determined variety ‘Tera’ (gi = 1.35; 2.37). Non-alelic gene interaction not found, which made it possible analyze parameters genetic variation. In two investigations, phenotypic manifestation number spike, dominant (H1 H2) survived over additive ones (D). average degree dominance indicated overdominance (H1/D). indicator average loci () also overdominance. Dominance oriented. Dominant genes increased grains, while recessive decreased them. At least one group has been identified that led dominance. general, (F > 0) or groups dominated quantitatively cultivar investigated. A coefficient heritability broad sense (H2 0.88; 0.90) indicates conditionality factors. narrow (h2 0.31; 0.38) contribution ones. Conclusions. on basis make predict effectiveness selections aimed increasing newly hybrid material.
